“I have many passions, however art and photography have formed and created my view of life and understanding of people.”

As a kid I always had a crayon or colored pencil in my hand.

I grew up in Chicago a short bike ride or a 1.5 mile walk to Wrigley Field.

Because of my boyhood experiences I had dreams of being a major league baseball player. I thought every kid growing up had a Major league ballpark as a playground, and a Great Lake (Lake Michigan) as his swimming hole.

The naivety of a child has no boundaries. Turned out and as is the case with so many of us, my Mother was Right, she said be an artist. I think the constant sense of wonder is what keeps my art and photography alive.

Lucky for me art was my other passion. I discovered early on that “a slow kid who couldn’t move to his left” had best give up the dream of big money in the ball parks.

Instead, I collected baseball memorabilia and clipped pictures from sports magazines. By age 12, I was sneaking behind the pro photographers at Chicago’s Wrigley Field and snapping shots with my Brownie Starflash.

When I wasn’t at the ballpark I was at the Art Institute or at movie theatres. Films taught me about lighting and costumes. The Art Institute showed me a world beyond the neighborhood. It gave me a curiosity to travel and explore. The magnificence of color and subject matter was a wonder.

At Memphis State, I studied Social Work. I was coming of age in the 60’s, thought I could change the world. Later on, made my way to art school in Florida for an AA degree in photography.

All along the way, I held onto my camera and love of sports. During the in between years I did Promotions and Marketing for United Artists the Theatre company. In that time period I began to sell my art to the NFL, NBA, card companies, magazines, stock photo agencies, and interior designers.

Later I moved to portrait work, both in the studio and on location. While on assignment traveling abroad photographing wildlife and other cultures.

After more than 40 years of creating images with photography and art I now am offering sale of this art for display in your home, office or to present unique and unusual gifts that can match your families, friends dreams and desires.
